Overview
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas cooled to about −162 °C, which reduces its volume around 600 times so it can be shipped by sea. At the receiving terminal it is turned back into gas and sent into the grid or to power plants.
BRONCI works with qualified suppliers and shipping partners to coordinate LNG cargoes. Gas quality is agreed with each buyer according to the specification of the receiving terminal.
Key Quality Parameters
| Parameter | Typical value / limit |
|---|---|
| Methane content | Typically 85 – 99 mol %, according to source |
| Gross heating value | According to receiving terminal specification |
| Wobbe index | According to receiving terminal specification |
| Nitrogen | Typically max 1 mol % |
| Hydrogen sulphide | According to terminal specification |
| Delivery temperature | Approximately −162 °C |
LNG quality depends on the source and must match the receiving terminal. Final specifications are agreed in each contract and confirmed by independent inspection at the loading port.
